HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 13069Ordinance No. ,3(l ,6 / AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE WATER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $28,952.00 AND IN THE SEWER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $69,701 75 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A CONTRACT TO LARRY H. JACKSON CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF DEWEY AND RELATED WATER AND SANITARY SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1996-97 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $28,952.00 and in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $69,701 75 from available funds for the purpose of funding, a contract to Larry H. Jackson Construction, Inc., for reconstruction of Dewey Street and related water and sanitary sewer line replacement. SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 12629 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except m those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. X997 Effective City of Fort Wordy Texars Mayor and Council Communication DATE ItEFBRENCB NUND3LR LOG NAME PAGE 07/01 /97 **C-16152 30DEWEY 1 of 3 sIISJSCT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCES AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO LARRY H ' ~- ~ JACKSON CONSTRUCTION INC ,FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF DEWEY STREET FROM DECATUR AVENUE TO DEEN ROAD AND RELATED WATER AND SANITARY SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council Authorize the transfier of 598,653 75 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Water Capital Projects Fund (528,952 00) and to the Sewer Capital Projects Fund (569,701 75), and- 2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of 528,952 00 and the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of 569,701 75 from available funds., and `~ 3 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations by 54,181 43 in the Special Assessments Fund from available funds, and 4 Authorize the transfer of 54,181 43 from the Special Assessments Fund to the Street Improv,_e,ments Fund, and ' 5 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and approprations by 54,181 43 in the Street Improvements Fund from available funds, and 6 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Larry H Jackson Construction, Inc , in the amount of 5459,537 50 for the reconstruction of Dewey Street from Decatur Avenue to Deen Road, and related work and sanitary sewer line improvements DISCUSSION The 1993 Capital Improvement Program included funds for the reconstruction of Dewey Street from Decatur Avenue to Deen Road This street was not previously constructed to City standards On October 22, 1996, the City Council held a benefit hearing and levied assessments for this project The Water Department has determined that water and sanitary sewer lines in this street are in need of replacement prior to street reconstruction There are no assessments against adjoining properties Printed on Bagdad Paper City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication 07/01 /97 **C-16152 30DEWEY I 2 of 3 svsJSCx APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCES AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO LARRY H JACKSON CONSTRUCTION INC., FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF DEWEY STREET FROM DECATUR AVENUE TO DEEN ROAD AND RELATED WATER AND SANITARY SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT The street improvements include the construction of standard concrete pavement, driveway approaches and sidewalks where shown on the plans Water and sanitary sewer replacements will also be made This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2, Mapsco 62D and 63A The project was advertised on January 16 and 23, 1997 The following bids were received on February 13, 1997 BIDDERS AMOUNT TIME OF COMPLETION Larry H.
