HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 12970Ordinance No ~ ~~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEII'TS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE STREETS LIGHTS AND SIGNALS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,320 00 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF ARLINGTON FOR INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS ALONG DOTTIE LYNN PARKWAY, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTNE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1996-97 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Street Lights and Signal Fund m the amount of $33,320 00 from available funds for the purpose of funding an interlocal agreement with the City of Arlington for installation of streets fights along Dottie Lynn Parkway SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way nnpair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 12629 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY Assistant ity Attorney Date Adopted Effective City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication 04/15/97 **G-11869 20DOTTIE 1 of 2 SUBJECT APPROVAL OF APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AND INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF ARLINGTON FOR INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS ALONG DOTTIE LYNN PARKWAY RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council 1 Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to execute an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with the City of Arlington, Texas permitting the installation of street lights along the Dottie Lynn Parkway within the Arlington city limits by city forces, and 2 Authorize Transportation/Public Works Department to collect payment from the City of Arlington of $33,320 00 to cover all costs associated with the installation of 13 street lights on approximately 2690 feet of Dottie Lynn Parkway located within the city limits of Arlington, and 3 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Street Lights and Signals Fund by 533,320 00 DISCUSSION The City needs to install additional street lighting along the Dottie Lynn Parkway in order to illuminate the roadway for the safety of the motorists A total of sixty-seven (67) street lights will be installed by Fort Worth forces, and thirteen (13) of these street lights will be within Arlington city limits Execution of the attached Interlocal Agreement will allow the City of Fort Worth to perform the street light installations within Arlington city limits The advantage of having all street light installations performed by the City of Fort Worth is to ensure the uniformity of all sixty-seven (67) street lights Upon execution of the attached Interlocal Agreement, the City of Arlington will be responsible for 1 Paying the City of Fort Worth (533,320 00) for the work to be undertaken by Fort Worth 2 Coordinating with T U Electric for electrical power to the lights ~'~.=~~"sfssuingjof'permits to Fort Worth without cost for the installation of the street lights 4 `Providing maintenance and operation of street lights after project is complete, including but not, limited to the cost of electricity a ~•~ , `, `', Printed on Regded Paper City of Fort Worth Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE 04/15/97 REFERENCE NUMBER **G-11869 LOG NAME 20DOTTIE PAGE 2 of 2 SUBJECT APPROVAL OF APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AND INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF ARLINGTON FOR INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS ALONG DOTTIE LYNN PARKWAY FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that upon adoption of the attached appropriations ordinance, the funds will be available in the Street Light and Signals Fund The Transportation/Public Works Department will be responsible for the collection of funds from the City of Arlington MG m u matte or ity anager's F D T ENTER T I E RET Office by: (~) ( ~ APPROV€D Mike Groomer 6140 ( A ` , w !
