HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 12478ORDINANCE NO ~~~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SEWER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $204,510.23 FROM INCREASED REVENUE FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING SMALL-DIAMETER SANITARY SEWER CLEANING FOR SANITARY SEWER MAIN 2078 DRAINAGE AREA, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1995/96 and in the Budget of the City Manager, thexe shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $204,510.23 from increased revenue for the purpose of funding Small- Diameter Sanitary Sewer Cleaning for Sanitary Sewer Main 207R Drainage Area. SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions s1ia11 be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 12074 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. It is recommended that the City Council 1 Authorize the City Manager to transfer 5204,510 23 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Sewer Capital Projects Fund, 2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordnance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of 5204,510 23 from increased revenue, and 3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with. Chief Contractors, Inc in the amount of 5194,771 23 for the Small-Diameter Sanitary Sewer Cleaning for Sanitary Sewer Main 2078 Drainage Area DISCUSSION. On November 28, 1995 lM&C C-15149), the City Council authorized an engineering agreement with Turner, Collie & Braden, Inc for Sanitary Sewer Main 2078 Drainage Area Inflow/Infiltration Evaluation Study and' Sewer Improvements (Group 5, Contract 3) As a part of this agreement, the consultants prepared a contract to clean approximately 119,000 L F of sanitary sewer lines ranging from 6 to 15-inch in diameter Cleaning of these sewers will reduce the potential of sewer backups and manhole overflows during dry weather, provide more accurate flow monitoring results, and facilitate the sewer system evaluation survey in the next phase of the Inflow/Infiltration Evaluation Study This project is a part of the Integrated Wet Weather Wastewater Management Program to comply with an Administrative Order from the U S Environmental Protection Agency to eliminate sewer overflows and bypasses in the City's wastewater collection system This project was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram on.
