HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 12321,>,... ,, Ordinance No. AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $585,000 00 TO THE GOLF COURSE FUND, AND DECREASING THE UNRESERVED, UNDESIGNATED GOLF COURSE FUND BALANCE BY THE SAME AMOUNT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING Il~QPROVEMENTS AT PECAN VALLEY, MEADOWBROOK, AND SYCAMORE CREEK GOLF COURSES, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERAB]I.ITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various Ciry departments for the Fiscal Year 1995-96 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased appropriations in the Golf Course Fund, in the amount of $585,000 00; thereby decreasing the unrestricted, undesignated Retained Earnings Balance by a like amount, for the purpose of providing improvements at Pecan Valley, Meadowbrook, and Sycamore Creek Golf Courses. SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 12074 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. APP VED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY Assistant City Attorne /a - ad -- 9s Date ~- ~`s Adopted Effective City of Fort Wordy Texas Mayor and Council Communication I DAT$ R$F$R$NC$ NUI~$R LOG NAME PAG$ 12/19/95 **G11339 80GOLFE 1 of 2 3IIBJ$CT SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION FOR DESIGNATED EXPENDITURES IN THE GOLF ENTERPRISE IMPROVEMENTS FUND RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council 1 Adopt the attached supplemental appropriations ordinance increasing appropriations in the Golf Course Fund by 5585,000 and decreasing the unreserved, undesignated Retained Earnings by a like amount, and 2 Authorize the City Manager to transfer funds in the amount of 5585,000 from the Golf Course Fund to the Park and Recreation Improvements Fund DISCUSSION The recommended 5585,000 00 transfer will be used at Pecan Valley, Meadowbrook and Sycamore Creek Golf Courses to make improvements that will enhance the playability of the golf courses, provide for additional conveniences for customers and enhance risk management practices relating to storage of pesticides The following items have been identified for funding 1 Construction of a bridge over Sycamore Creek's south low water crossing Currently minor rain events cause management to close the course resulting in lost revenues and inconvenience to golfers 5200,000 2 Purchase of a computerized point-of-sale program with automated reservation system for the pro shop and snack shop operations S 100,000 3 Purchase of three (3) self contained hazardous material storage buildings for the storage of agricultural pharmaceuticals 5 60,000 4 Revetment. mat erosion control blanket along #8 fairway creek at Sycamore Creek golf Course 5 50,000 5 Dredging of irrigation pump lake and installation of irrigation well at Meadowbrook Golf Course S 150,000 6 Rock drainage channel along #7 fairway at Meadowbrook Golf Course to prevent further erosion 5 25,000 ,~ ,~, .. ~..
