AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF
$48,000.00 FROM INCREASED REVENUE FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING
YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM ACTIVITIES, PROVIDING FOR A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF
PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1995/96 and in
the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Special Trust Fund in the amount of $48,000.00 from increased revenue for the purpose of funding Youth Services
Program Activities.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any
reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the
remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and
remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 12074 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with
such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances
and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained.

SUBJECT APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT'S YOUTH SERVICES
PROGRAMS
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Adapt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Special Trust Fund by 548,000 from increased revenue, and
2 Approve the. use of 548,000 for use by the Youth Services programs for various activities
DISCUSSION
The Police Department's Youth Services programs encompass a variety of activities coordinated
by officers throughout the department These activities include rechartering fees for Explorer
posts, transportation, meals, uniforms, office supplies, competition equipment, entertainment for
participants such as Six Flags, Texas Ranger games and educational supplies Officers within
the department organize these activities and focus primarily on youngsters at risk who might
otherwise engage in illegal activities
The programs are conducted throughout the year and include the Explorer's posts, and the
summer D A R E program Youth who participate in these programs attend meetings with the
officers and work on special details with the officers
Funding will provide better coordination of all programs within the department and provide the
needed resources for officers to utilize
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that upon adoption of the attached appropriation
ordinance, funds required for this expenditure will be available in the current operating budget
of the Special Trust Fund
