~ ~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE WATER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE
AMOUNT OF $301,885.00 FROM INCREASED REVENUE FOR THE PURPOSE
OF FUNDING WATER LINE REHABILITATION AT THE SYLVANIA
AVENUE AND N W 23RD SITES, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR
ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1994-95 and in
the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $301,885.00 from increased revenue for the purpose of funding
water line replacement at the Sylvania Avenue and N W 23rd Street sites.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any
reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the
remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and
remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 11645 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of finis ordinance are in direct conflict with
such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances
and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to transfer 5301,885 00 from Water and Sewer
Operating Fund to the Water Capital Projects Fund, and
2 Adopt the attached aoarooriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of 5301,885 00
from increased revenue, and
3. Authorize the City Manager to execute a construction contract with William J.
Schultz, Inc , DBA Circle "C" Construction in the amount of 5269,540 00 for water
line rehabilitation in Sylvania Avenue between Hollis Street and Goldenrod Avenue
and N W 23rd Street between Robinson Street and Menefee Street, allowing ninety
(90) working days
DISCUSSION
The Transportation/Public Works Department is planning to overlay these two locations
under their 1994-95 overlay program The Water Department has determined that the
existing water lines at these locations require repair prior to the project
This project was advertised on May 18, 1995 and May 25, 1995 The following bids
were received June 8, 1995

located on Mapsco Page 63G, and the N W 23rd Street site is located on Mapsco Page

In addition to the contract cost, 513,477 00 is required for possible change orders for
water The water contingencies for associated construction inspection and survey are
518,868 00
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that upon approval and completion of
recommendation 1, and the adoption of the attached appropriations ordinance, funds
required for the construction phase of the water facilities will be available in the current
operating budget of the Water Capital Projects Fund
