AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN
THE GRANTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,590 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A HISTORICAL SPRING HOUSE DISPLAY AT THE
LOG CABIN VILLAGE THROUGH A GRANT FROM THE COMMUNITIES FOUNDATION OF
TEXAS, INC PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS
ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for
the Fiscal Year 1994-95 and in the Budget of the. City Manager, there shall also be
increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Grants Fund in the amount
of $8,590 00 for the purpose of funding design and construction of a historical
spring house display at the Log Cabin Village through a grant from the Communities
Foundation of Texas, Inc
SECTION 2
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared
invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction,
such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions,
sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions
shall be and remain in full force and effect
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 11645 and all other
ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where
the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances
and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior
ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the
date of its passage, and it is so ordained

SUBJECT GRANT APPLICATION TO THE COMMUNITIES FOUNDATION OF TEXAS, INC FOR
THE LOG CABIN VILLAGE
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to apply for and accept a grant, if awarded, in the amount of
58,590 for design and construction of a historical spring house display at the Log Cabin
Village from the Communities Foundation of Texas, Inc
2 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriation
in the Grants Fund by 58,590, upon receipt of funds
DISCUSSION
The Parks and Community Services Department is requesting approval to apply for and accept,
if awarded, a grant from the Communities Foundation of Texas, Inc Grant applications are being
accepted until October 1, 1995 for the current grant cycle
If awarded, the grant of 58,590 would provide funds for design and construction of a historical
spring house display at the Log Cabin Village The spring house will depict the 1800's methods
of food storage and preservation before electricity and refrigeration The small stone structure
would be built partially into the hillside at the head of an existing recirculating stream The
viewing doorway would open onto the existing hard surface to allow access to all visitors
At its regular meeting on July 18, 1995, the Parks and Community Services Advisory Board
voted to endorse staff's recommendation to the City Council to "authorize the City Manager to
apply for and accept a grant, if awarded, for design and construction of a historical spring house
display at the Log Cabin Village from the Communities Foundation"
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that upon approval and execution of the above
recommendation, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, of the
Grants Fund
