AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE GRANTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $28,644 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
INCREASING FUNDING FROM TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE FOR
IMPLEMENTATION OF JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT, TITLE III ECONOMIC
DISLOCATION WORKER ADJUSTMENT ACT PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR
ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments
for the Fiscal Year 1994-95 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall
also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Grants Fund in
the amount of $28,644 00 for the purpose of increasing funds from Texas
Department of Commerce for .implementation of Job Training Partnership Act,
Title III Economic Dislocation Worker Adjustment Act Program
SECTION 2
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared
invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent
jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the
remaining portions, sections, or ,parts of sections of this ordinance, which
said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 11645 and all other
ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances
where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other
ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions
of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the
date of its passage, and it is so ordained

ECONOMIC DISLOCATION WORKER ADJUSTMENT ACT PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to accept an additional grant from the Texas Department of
Commerce in the amount of 528,644 00 pursuant to the Job Training Partnership Act, Title
III Economic Dislocation Worker Adjustment Act Program for the contract period of July 1,
1994 to June 30, 1995, and
2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Grants Fund by 528,644 00 from increased revenue
DISCUSSION
On July 19, 1994, the City Council approved M&C C-14.389 and thereby authorized the City
Manager to accept a grant from the Texas Department of Commerce in the amount of
$1,675,693 00 for implementation of the Job Training Partnership Act, Title III Economic
Dislocation Worker Adjustment Act Program for a contract period of July 1, 1994 to June 30,
1995 This program allows the Department of Employment and Training to provide assistance
to dislocated workers in Fort Worth with a variety of services designed to enable them to reenter
the workforce
On January 6, 1995, the Texas Department of Commerce notified Employment and Training that
an additional 528,644 00 in grant funds were available for the City's use in its implementation
of the Title III Program Acceptance of these additional funds will bring the total grant amount
to 51,704,337 00 for the contract year July 1, 1994 to June 30, 1995
