AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN
THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,150 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
FUNDING THE BIO-MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY FORUM; PROVIDING FOR P. SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND
REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for
the Fiscal Year 1994-95 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be
increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the General Fund in the amount
of $11,150 00 for the purpose of funding the Bio-Medical Technology Forum
SECTION 2
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared
invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction,
such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions,
sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions
shall be and remain in full force and effect
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 11645 and all other
ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where
the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances
and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior
ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the
date of its passage, and it is so ordained

SvsJLCT APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR FORT WORTH ECONOMIC ADJUSTMENT OFFICE
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Accept cash donations in the amount of $11,150 00 and $5,500 00 in inkind contributions
to fund the Bio-Medical Technology Forum, and
2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and
appropriations in the General Fund by $11,150 00 from increased revenue
DISCUSSION
The Fort Worth Office of Economic Adjustment along with its partners hosted the Bio-Medical
Technology Forum on April 26, 1995, at the Will Rogers Memorial Center The conference
brought together 160 small businesses, health care professionals, defense sub-contractors,
product suppliers, and entrepreneurs with the purpose of expanding the development of the Bio-
Medical technology cluster in Fort Worth
The partners making this event successful were AT&T Image Solution, $1,200, C B
Commercial -Dallas/Fort Worth, $500, Motorola, $2,000, Southwestern Bell, $3,000, Texas
Commerce Bank, $450, Union Pacific Resources, $2,000, University of North Texas Health
Science Center of Fort Worth, $2,000, and, inkind estimates from Harris Methodist Health
Services, $2,500, Plaza Medical Center, $1,800, Osteopathic Health System of Texas, $1,200,
plus the City of Fort Worth (Will Rogers & Botanic Garden)
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that upon the adoption of the attached appropriations
ordinance, funds for these expenditures will be available in the operating budget, as appropriated,
of the General Fund
