HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 11983Ordinance No ~1g~3 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SEWER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $220,636 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OE' FUNDING A CONTRACT WITH SOUTHWESTERN UNDERGROUND FOR SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION CONTRACT XXIII, PART I; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1994-95 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $220,636 00 for the purpose of funding a contract with Southwestern Underground for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract XXIII, Part I SECTION 2 .Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 11645 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY City Atto y ~~~ ~ ~ ~'~ Date ~,~ ~ q Adopted Effective Caty of Fort Worth, Texas 1Vdayor and Councal Communication 06/06/95 NUb~ER **C_1~g LOG 30S0UTH I 1 of 2 SUBJECT APPROVAL OF SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO SOUTHWESTERN UNDERGROUND FOR SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION, CONTRACT XXIII PART I RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council 1 Authorize the City Manager to transfer 5220,636 00 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Sewer Capital Projects Fund, and 2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations by 5220,636 00 in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund from increased revenue, and 3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Southwestern Underground, in the amount of 5196,126 00 for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract XXIII Part I DISCUSSION The sewer lines to be rehabilitated under this contract were initiated as a result of maintenance problems, sewer backups and manhole overflows These lines are on the high priority project list in the City Manager's Informal Report on the Proposed Action Plan to Address Chronic Sanitary Sewer Overflow Areas (I R 76981, dated March 8, 1993 The work to be performed under this project consists of the replacement of 720 L.F of 10" sanitary sewer line on Lateral - 1, in the alley way between Main Street and Commerce Street from Sixth Street to Third Street (Mapsco 63W1, and 630 L F of 8" sanitary sewer line on Lateral - 160, in the alleyway west of Maryland Avenue E from Daggett Avenue to Stella Street (Mapsco 77F1 The project was advertised April 6 and 13, 1995 On April 27, 1995 the following bids were received BIDDER AMOUNT OF BID Southwestern Underground 5196,126 00 Horseshoe Construction 5204,868 00 Hall-A{bert Construction 5333,446 00 Time of completion 60 Working Days •~ Printed on recycled paper City o,~' Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Couaui~ Communication DATE REFERENCE LOG NAME.
