HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 12095Ordinance No / C1 /~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SEWER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,172 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING AN ENGINEERING AGREEMENT WITH METRO TECH ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION, INC FOR STREET RECONSTRUCTION AND WATER AND SANITARY SEWER REPLACEMENT ON RAMEY AVENUE AND WALLACE STREET; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1994-95 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $10,172 00 for the purpose of funding an engineering agreement with Metro Tech Engineering Association, Inc for street reconstruction and water and sanitary sewer replacement on Ramey Avenue and Wallace Street SECTION 2 Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 11645 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY ~~~~ity Atto ~~ ~ Date ~~~ ~J Adopted Effective City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE REFERENCE LOG NAME PAGE 08/22/95 NvMSER **C-14975 30RAMEY 1 of 2 Si7BJECT APPROVAL OF SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE AND AWARD OF ENGINEERING AGREEMENT TO METRO TECH ENGINEERING ASSOC ,INC., FOR STREET RECONSTRUCTION AND WATER AND SANITARY SEWER REPLACEMENTS ON RAMEY AVENUE (MILLER TO WALLACE) AND WALLACE STREET (RAMEY TO CRENSHAW) RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council Authorize the City Manager to transfer $33,944 00 from Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of 523,772 00 and Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of 510,172 00, and 2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of 523,772 00 and the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of 510,172 00 from increased revenue, and 3 Authorize the City Manager to execute an engineering agreement with Metro Tech Engineering Assoc ,Inc , for a fee not to exceed 570,157 00 to prepare plans and specifications for street, water and sanitary sewer improvements on Ramey Avenue (Miller to Wallace) and Wallace Street (Ramey to Crenshaw) DISCUSSION The 1993 Capital Improvement Program included funds for the reconstruction of Ramey Avenue (Miller to Wallace) and Wallace Street (Ramey to Crenshaw) The existing hot mix asphaltic pavement is substandard and requires high maintenance In addition, the existing drainage facilities are inadequate The Water Department has determined that the water and sanitary sewer fines in both streets are seriously deteriorated and should be replaced prior to street reconstruction Metro Tech Engineering Assoc ,Inc ,located at 5600E Loop 820, Suite 113, Fort Worth, Texas 76119, proposes to perform the design work for this project for a fee not to exceed 570,157 00 based on established hourly rates Staff considers this fee to be fair-and reasonable for the scope of services proposed Metro Tech Engineering Assoc ,Inc , is in compliance with the City's MBE/WBE ordinance by achieving 100% participation --~; ,,..
