AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN
THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,236 00 FOR THE PURPOSE
OF FUNDING THE PURCHASE OF A CD-ROM NETWORK SYSTEM FROM JES HARDWARE
SOLUTIONS; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for
the Fiscal Year 1994-95 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be
increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Revenue Fund in the
amount of $35,236 00 for the purpose of funding the purchase of a CD-ROM Network
System from JES Hardware Solutions
SECTION 2
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared
invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction,
such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions,
sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions
shall be and remain in full force and effect
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 11645 and all other
ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where
the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances
and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior
ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the
date of its passage, and it is so ordained

FROM JES HARDWARE SOLUTIONS FOR THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing appropriations and estimated
receipts by 535,236 00 in the Special Revenue Fund from increased revenues, and
2 Authorize the purchase of a CD-Rom Network System for the Library Department from Jes
Hardware Solutions, on the low bid of 535,236 00, net 30 days, f o b Miami, Florida,
freight prepaid
DISCUSSION
Bid invitations were mailed to five potential bidders, one no-bid was received and two bidders
did not respond This bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on June 1 and 8,
1995
All terms as stated and a bid tabulation is attached
The Library Department will use this CD-Rom Network System to store up to 100 compact disks
via a local area network within Central Library and allow citizens to the latest multimedia
information databases
Funding for the CD-Rom Network System is available from a Special Revenue Fund set up in
1986, when Haltom City first purchased library automation series from Fort Worth Revenue
from that and subsequent purchases by both Haltom City and the City of Keller was set aside
to provide the means for upgrading the Library's computer system without impacting the General
Fund budget The cash balance in the Special Revenue Fund, Automated Library System is
5206,674 03 The available cash balance after the proposed expenditure will be 5171,438 03
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that upon approval of Recommendation #1, funds
required for this expenditure will be available in the current capital budget, as appropriated, of
the Special Revenue Fund
