HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 11505u1 ~ ,.1 "1 a"~x - d~' ORDINANCE NO ~~~/~~/ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $500.00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM 7-ELEVEN FOOD STORES FOR THE D.A.R.E. PROGRAM, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1993- 94 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Trust Fund in the amount of $500.00 for the purpose of accepting a donation from 7-Eleven Food Stores for the D.A.R.E. Program. SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 11379 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. It is recommended that the City Council 1 Accept the donation of 5500 00 from 7-Eleven Food Stores for the Police Department's D.A.R E program, and 2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations by 5500 00 in the Special Trust Fund, from increased revenue DISCUSSION ' Mr Lee Gober, Charitable Contributions Committee Chairman, 7-Eleven Food Stores has notified the Police Department that on behalf of the employees of 7-Eleven they would like to donate 5500 00 for the department's D.A R E program Each year, 7-Eleven donates money to selected charities and deserving organizations locally Mr Gober expressed admiration for the work done in the community by the D.A R E program and felt the program was deserving of this very generous donation This donation will enable the department to purchase needed supplies or materials used in this program FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION.
