HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 11506t ORDINANCE NO AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,249.81 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR A GARDENER AND TWO ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS AT THE BOTANIC GARDEN, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1993- 94 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Revenue Fund in the amount of $35,249.81 for the purpose of accepting donations from the Fort Worth Botanical Society and the Fort Worth Garden Club to fund a gardener and two administrative positions at the Botanic Garden. SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 11379 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor; and Council ~;c-mmunication DATL RSFI3RENCE NUbffiBR LOG NAbI$ PAGE 02/22/94 'G10557 80CLUB 1 of 2 SIISJECT ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS FROM THE FORT WORTH BOTANICAL SOCIETY AND THE FORT WORTH GARDEN CLUB FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A GARDENER AND TWO ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council 1 Accept a gift of 512,669 64 from the Fort Worth Botanical Society, Inc for the purpose of funding for a period of six (6) months, the salary and benefits of a gardener position at the Botanic Garden, and 2 Accept a gift of 522,580 17 from the Fort Worth Garden Club, Inc for the purpose of funding for a period of six (6) months, the salaries and benefits of an administrative assistant position, and aclerk/typist at the Botanic Garden, and 3 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Revenue Fund by 535,249 81, from increased revenues, and 4 Approve the expenditure of 535,249 81 in the Special Revenue Fund for the purpose of funding one gardener position and two administrative positions at the Botanic Garden DISCUSSION The Fort Worth Botanical Society, Inc has proposed a gift of 512,669 64 to continue for six (6- months funding of the salary and benefits of a gardener position assigned to the Japanese Garden area of the Botanic Garden The Fort Worth Garden Club, Inc has proposed a gift of 522,580 17 to continue for six (6) months funding of the salaries and benefits of an administrative assistant position, and a clerk/typist position These two positions serve at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden Center building at the Botanic Garden The Botanical Society and the Fort Worth Garden Club are presently funding these positions and have announced- their intentions to contribute in the future to continue these positions -~~~ Printed on recycled paper f~~ a ,.
