ORDINANCE NO /l~~
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,500 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR THE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS
WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM, PROVIDING FOR A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL
PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS•
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year
1993-94 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Environmental Management Fund in the amount of $4,500.00 for the purpose of
accepting donations for the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or
void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no
way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said
remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 11379 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are
in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting
provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage,
and it is so ordained.

HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Accept the donation of 52,500 00 from Lockheed Fort Worth Company for the City's
household hazardous waste collection program, and
2 Accept the donation of 5500 00 from Ned K Burleson and Associates for the City's
household hazardous waste collection program, and
3 Accept the donation of 5500 00 from Motorola for the City`s household hazardous waste
collection program, and
~4 Accept the donation of 5500 00 from Union Pacific Resources for the City's household
hazardous waste collection program, arid
5 Accept the donation of 5250 00 from the Alcon Foundation for the City's household
hazardous waste collection program, and
6 Accept the donation of 5250 00 from Carter and Burgess for the City's household
hazardous waste collection program, and
7 Accept in-kind contributions from Coca Cola Bottling Company and Miller Brewing
Company valued at less than 5300 00 each, and
8 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Environmental Management Fund by 54,500 00 from increased
revenue
DISCUSSION
In planning for the April 30, 1994, Household Hazardous Waste Collection event, the Department
of Environmental Management solicited support from numerous local businesses to assist with
advertising and preparation of public education materials Six companies made monetary
donations of 54,500 00, while two companies; Miller Brewing Company and Coca Cola Bottling
Company made in-kind donations to assist in staging the event and rewarding volunteers for their
assistance
All donated funds will be used to pay for a portion of the printing, graphics, and advertising costs
associated with the event
