ORDINANCE NO ~I L~~./~~
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN THE
AMOUNT OF $1,500 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCEPTING
DONATIONS TO DEFRAY THE COST OF THE "COWTOWN
BRUSH-UP" 1994 CAMPAIGN, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR
ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1993-
94 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Special Trust Fund in the amount of $1,500.00 for the purpose of accepting
donations to defray the cost of the "Cowtown Brush-Up" 1994 campaign.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or
void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no
way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said
remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 11379 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are
in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting
provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage,
and it is so ordained.

SUBJECT ACCEPTANCE OF COWTOWN BRUSH-UP PROJECT CONTRIBUTIONS
RECOMMENDATION.
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Accept donations totaling 51,500 00 from Tandy Corporation, 5500, Overton Bank and
Trust, 5500, and Alcon Foundations, 5500, to defray the cost of the "Cowtown Brush-Up"
1994 campaign, and
2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and
appropriations by 51,500 00 in the Special Trust Fund, from increased revenues, and
3 Approve the expenditure of 51,500 00 in the Special Trust Fund for those expenses, as
detailed below, related to "Cowtown Brush-Up" 94 and future Cowtown Brush-Up Paint-A-
Thons
DISCUSSION.
On October 16, 1993, the Housing and Human Services Department (H&HS) sponsored the
"Cowtown Brush-Up" Paint-A-Thon Eighty (80) homes belonging to primarily low-income elderly
citizens were painted by volunteer teams formed by civic, community, business, and
neighborhood organizations All contributions received are used toward defraying the cost of
painting supplies, sponsoring additional houses, volunteer parties anal administrative expenses
•related to this project and future "Cowtown Brush=Up" Paint-A-Thons This program was
operated in Council Districts 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9
These funds were received after the end of the 1993 project and will be used for the 1994
"Cowtown Brush-Up"
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION.
The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that upon completion of Recommendations 1 and 2,
funds will be available for this project in the current operating budget of the Special Trust Fund
The Department of Housing is responsible for the collection and deposit, to the Special Trust
Fund, of all donations received toward this program
