RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Approve the recommended revision to City Council District No. 2 to reflect the
previous disannexation of a 4.978-acre tract of land from the City of Fort Worth;
and
2. Adopt an ordinance amending City Ordinance No. 7323, as amended by City Ordinance
No. 11158, to reflect the deletion from City Council District No. 2 of a 4.978-
acre tract of land previously disannexed from the City of Fort Worth.
DISCUSSION:
On August 25, 1992, the City Council adopted City Ordinance No. 11158, which amended
City Ordinance No. 7323, and which describes the boundary lines of each of the City's
newly revised singlemember districts.
On October 6, 1992, the City Council adopted City Ordinance No. 11178, which disannexed
from the City of Fort Worth a 4.978-acre tract of land which is located within the
boundaries of the newly revised City Council District No. 2.
As a result of this disannexation, it is necessary to amend City Ordinance No. 7323,
as amended by City Ordinance No. 11158, to reflect the deletion of this 4.978-acre
tract from City Council District No. 2. Because the disannexed land is located wholly
within the interior region of District No. 2 and is not contiguous to the described
boundary line of District No. 2, it is not necessary to revise the boundary description
of District No. 2. However, for purposes accurately reflecting revisions to the City's
singlemember district plan, it is necessary that an ordinance be adopted reflecting the
deletion of this tract from within City Council District No. 2.
The deletion of the 4.978-acre tract from District No. 2 is briefly described below,
along with its impact on the City's singlemember district plan:
AREA DISANNEXED:
Ordinance No. 11178
A 4.978-acre tract of land in the J. M. Lilly
Disannexed on October 6, 1992.
IMPACT:
The impact of this change in corporate territor
is negligible. At the time the disannexation
was zoned AG-and was used as a tree farm. No
