AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE AIRPORTS GRANT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF
$1,263,157.89, SUBJECT TO RECEIPT OF THE GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL
AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FflR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING RUNWAY
AND TAXIWAY PAVEMENT REHABILITATION AND THE FIRST YEAR
PORTION OF A MULTI-YEAR GRANT FOR AN AIRPORT RESCUE AND
FIREFIGHTING VEHICLE AT FORT WORTH ALLIANCE AIRPORT: PROVIDING
FOR A SEVERABlLITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF
PRIOR ORDiNANGES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2008-
2009 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Airports Grant Fund in the amount of $1,263,157.89, subject to receipt of the
grant from the Federal Aviation Administration far the purpose of funding the runway and taxiway
pavement rehabilitation and the first year pardon of a multi-year grant for an Airport Rescue and
Firefighting Vehicle at Fort Worth Alliance Airport.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance tae declared invalid,
inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or
judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this
ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 18283 and aII other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance
are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said
conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are heroby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4,
This ordinance snail take effect upon adoptioi;.

$1,200,000.00 for Runway and Taxiway Pavement Rehabilitation and the First Year Portion of a Multi-Year

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize the City Manager to apply for and accept, if awarded, a grant from the Federal Aviation
Administration in an amount up to $1,200,000.00 for runway and taxiway pavement rehabilitation and first
year portion of a multi-year grant far an Airport Rescue and Firefighting Vehicle at Fort Worth Alliance
Airport;
2. Authorize the use of Iand credits in an amount up to $63,157.89 far the City's in-kind local match of five
percent of the project cost; and
3. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Airports Grant Fund by $1,263,157.89, subject to receipt of the grant.
DISCUSSION:
Each year Fork Worth Alliance Airport is eligible to receive Airport Cargo Entitlement and Non-Primary
Airport money from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is based on the amount of cargo
activity from the previous calendar year and discretionary dollars available in the airport improvement
program. The total amount of entitlement and non-primary airport money available to Alliance Airport this
year is an amount up to $1,200,000.00.
Upon receipt of a grant from the FAA, Airport Cargo Entitlement and Non-Primary Airport funds will be
used for:
1. Run4vay and taxiway pavement rehabilitation; and

the current capital budget, as appropriated, of the Airports Grant Fund.
