HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 11284x ORDINANCE NO. 4' AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF A PORTION OF "KELLER HASLET ROAD" TO "WESTPORT PARKWAY "; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AFFECTING STREET NAMES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT the name of the portion of the street known as "Keller Haslet Road ", a public street and right -of -way, as it runs from a point five thousand five hundred (5,500) feet west of I -35W to a point six thousand five hundred (6,500) feet east of I -35W, be and the same is hereby changed to "Westport Parkway ". SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances affecting the names of streets in the City of Fort Worth except insofar as it may be in conflict with the provisions of those ordinances, in which instance they are expressly repealed. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. DISCUSSION: Mr. Thad Brundrett, Vice President of Carter & Burgess., on behalf of Hillwood Development Corporation, has requested that the name of a portion of Keller Haslet Road, as described above, be changed to Westport Parkway. There have been no objections raised by reviewing City Departments, the U.S. Postmaster or the Highway Department. The City of Haslet already approved the name change in their city. This section of road is identified on the Master Thoroughfare Plan as a future arterial that will extend from the new ATSF rail yards east to U.S. 377. As such, much of the existing county road section will be incorporated into the future thoroughfare. A public hearing has been scheduled for today's City Council meeting and all abutting property owners have been notified.
