TLqex Page 1 of 2 SUBJECT: Development Advisory Committee to-?% The purpose of this report is to inform the Mayor and Council of a proposed structure for a Development Advisory Committee. As you will recall, the formation of a standing committee was recommended by the Process Improvement Committee of the Development Standards Task Force. The standing committee will be charged with monitoring the development process and making further recommendations to the City Manager. Based upon the input of Jungus Jordan, the Process Improvement Committee Chair and the Zoning Commission Chair, the new committee would have representation from the following organizations: Greater Fort Worth Board of Realtors League of Neighborhoods Builders Association of Greater Fort Worth Association of General Contractors Central City Redevelopment Committee ;k. Building Officer Managers Association (BOMA) American Institute of Architects (AIA) We would rely upon these organizations to select their representative. In addition, representatives from the following Council appointed bodies would participate: Planning Commission Zoning Commission Board of Adjustments Construction and Fire Prevention Board of Appeals Historic Landmarks Commission We would invite the chair of these bodies or their designees to serve on the Development Advisory Committee. Finally, we would invite 3 — 5 individuals from the development professions to round out the committee. Initially, we would select these at-large members from the ranks of former participants in the Development Standards Task Force process. Our next step would be to send letters of invitation to each of the organizations and individuals that are to designate or be standing committee members. While awaiting these designations, staff will prepare a simple draft of a charge that can be reviewed at the first meeting of the ,Development Advisory Committee. We expect the first meeting to occur in January, and the first order of business would be to select a chair.
